Fashionably February

Hello to somebody! Another infrequent update from moi to you, one of my 15-30 monthly readers! If you’re one of the people I’ve sent this to in a fashion game discord chat then I’ve got great news, we’re at the last leg of debugging and the first debut of “Stylized” is real close. If you’re a friend or family, then yay! I can go out a bit more~ I do feel a little sentimental because it’s been a long development and things were done and redone a hundred times over and now I’ll be able to share my styling vision to the world.

On to the game! We had to tweak some aspects of it that weren’t optimal and found better ways of building that vision. If you have previously seen the first demos we’ve done then you can see that we have 3 buttons that can change individual details to an item (if they have it). We’ve now cut that to just 1 button because it was using wayyyyy too much memory etc etc etc. I haven’t really shown anyone the changes we’ve been making since then but I hope y’all think its as smooth as we intended it to be. snaps for Alv! * *

Also, shoutout to the lovely Inga over at Dress Up Games. She came across an old prototype of mine on Meiker and she has carries it over to her website. Reading the comments warms my heart (play it here). It’s quite surreal to see my art make it to the original website that introduced me to the genre. I used to check the website daily and play every single link that came up.

When I started making this I did not think it would take years but I really learnt that game engines aren’t built for fashion games and most things were just made from scratch. Ultimately I’m glad our debut is miles away from my original plans. I don’t wanna sound all girlboss but really, if there’s something you’ve been dying to try but you don’t know where to start, just jump in and see where it takes you.

I can’t wait to see how others put their own styles into “Stylized”

with luv,

Muv
